Job Overview

The Director, Human Resources will work in close collaboration with the business leader and HR VP to implement strategic HR related projects and initiatives. To be successful in this role, the candidate must have strategic HR expertise working in growth client teams, creative/thinking outside the box culture, challenging the status quo, and providing strategic HR guidance. In addition, regular collaboration with senior leadership and key stakeholders to deliver world-class HR support to clients is key.

  • Strategic HR business partner.
  • Drive talent management.
  • Work with leadership to manage HR deliverables.
  • Communicate and engage with employees on key HR actions.
  • Work closely with cross functional HR team and business stakeholders.
  • Participate in due-diligence and integration exercises for M&A targets.
  • Lead a team of HRBPs, including skills and career development planning.
  • Provide HR leadership for multiple business units in R&DS, including DSSM.

Essential Functions

  • Understands business partner/client markets and translates goals into proactive human resources plans to enable successful achievement of business results.
  • Provides guidance and oversees management of human resources activities such as recruitment, performance reviews, benefits, training, employee relations, and resolves problems requiring senior management intervention.
  • Establishes people plans with business leaders and ensures alignment with GBU-wide people strategies. Helps local leaders build strong talent pipelines through effective succession planning, Leadership Development Reviews, and talent roundtable activities.
  • Develops the capabilities of line managers and employees and enhances HR processes to ensure an effective employee life-cycle experience.
  • Develops and implements near-term human resources plans that are effective in addressing organization issues and are consistent with business goals.
  • Communicates human resources strategies, initiatives, and processes to client businesses.
  • Provides HR related data insights to the HR and business leadership to support decision making.
  • Shares insights and recommendations on cost containment opportunities through workforce planning, headcount management, hiring support, compensation planning activities.
  • Assists in resolving employee relations and communications issues by proactively analyzing and communicating findings to management along with solutions to enhance current state; in designing and implementing changes in organizational structure and processes; and in analyzing trends within the organization in turnover, hiring, promotions and separations to determine support or action needed to adjust unfavorable trends.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Required.
  • 8 years’ experience as a generalist or combination of generalist and specialist experience.
  • 3 years direct line management experience.
  • Experience operating with senior/executive management teams.
  • Experience working in a remote environment preferred. This role is homebased, preference given to those on the Eastern half of the US due to global reach and multi-country support.
  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of human resources policies and procedures as well as national and local laws.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional relationship building skills with consultative approach.
  • Ability to create and present compelling, professional PowerPoint presentations.
  • Strong data analysis experience.
  • Ability to work independently in a flexible environment, as well as with a team.
  • Strong knowledge of CRO, CSO or pharmaceutical and other related business industries preferred.
  • Very high degree of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Good ability to work in a matrix environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and clients.
  • Professional HR accreditation preferred but not required.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $128,900.00 - $219,400.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
