OVERVIEWThe Assistant Human Resources Manager will play a pivotal role in steering the HR department and ensuring the smooth functioning of employee relations and HR operations within the organization. Working closely with the Sr. HR Manager, the Assistant HR Manager will serve in various HR functions, including but not limited to recruitment, employee relations, labor relations, performance management, training and development, and general HR processes, systems, and administration.RESPONSIBILITIESLabor Relations:Strong union relations leadership with a thorough understanding of relevant labor laws and regulations to ensure compliance and mitigate risk. Will review and follow a labor agreement.Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on matters related to performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution within a unionized environment. Collaborate with leadership to develop strategies for maintaining positive employee relations.Employee Relations & Culture:Act as a point of contact for employees regarding HR-related inquiries, issues, and concerns.Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts through and objective investigations.Works closely with management and employees to improved work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention. Lead, influence, and empower the organization to fulfill our purpose (living our legacy, shaping our future, and winning as one)Cultivate a diverse and inclusive culture where associates can thrive, make us better and fuel ideas/innovations to ensure our long-term success!Performance Management:Support the performance management process by assisting in performance evaluations, goal setting, and providing guidance to managers and employees on performance-related matters.Training and Development:Coordinate training and development initiatives, including identifying training needs, organizing training programs, and tracking employee development progress.HR Administration:Must be involved in developing/creating/executing day-to-day HR processes and generate alternative methods to streamline processes.Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personnel files, attendance, and leave records – inside and outside of HR systems.Assist in the implementation and enforcement of HR policies, procedures, and programs.Ability to mentor and coach other Plant HR Team members. Ability to collaborate with across other HR Functions (i.e., payroll, benefits, HRIS, and compensation).Compliance:Stay informed about relevant employment laws and regulations and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.Assist in conducting audits and assessments to ensure adherence to HR policies and legal requirements. TRAVEL & LOCATION REQUIREMENTSThis job is 100% on-premise, Monday through Friday at a 24/7/365 location, working in a glass production facility with heavy machinery, loud noises and moving vehicles. Some travel to facilities within twenty-five miles may be required from time to time.REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS8 Years HR experience in a union represented manufacturing/production environment is required. Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field is required.Proven experience in an HR generalist role, with a strong understanding of HR principles and practices in a manufacturing facility with a union-represented workforce is required.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization is required.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines is required.Proven ability to work in complex and ambiguous situations is required.Proficiency in MS Office applications and HRIS software is required.Knowledge of employment laws and regulations is required.HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is preferred. WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOULibbey provides a competitive total rewards package intended to attract, motivate, and retain associates.
