The Magic House, St. Louis Children's Museum is Hiring a Human Resources Coordinator Near Kirkwood, MO

Job Title: Human Resources Coordinator

FLSA: Non-exempt

Status: Full-time

Reports To: Director of Human Resources

Time Allocation: Five days per week, weekend required

Expectation of Employee

· Act in an honest, mature, and professional manner at all times;

· Treat our visitors and co-workers with respect and courtesy;

· Avoid any situation that may create or appear to create a conflict between our personal interests and the interests of The Magic House;

· Safeguard the property of The Magic House through care and respect and avoid waste and abuse;

· Report to work on time and with a can-do attitude;

· Keep timely and accurate financial, attendance, and program records;

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified applicants for open positions and collaborates with department managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings;

· Leads orientations for all full-time and part-time new hires at both locations;

· Assists in planning and executing staff appreciation such as national holidays, parties, and recognition events to create an atmosphere that encourages motivation and high-performance;

· Assists with the administration of open enrollment and provides information on benefits changes during qualifying events;

· Reviews biweekly payroll reports and meets with department managers to verify discrepancies to ensure an accurate payroll;

· Presents new hires and newly qualified employees enrollment information about the Museum’s 401(k) plan;

· Coordinates background screenings for new hires, adult volunteers and annual rescreening for current employees;

· Works with new hires and current employees to ensure completion of required trainings;

· Represents The Magic House at in-person and virtual job fairs;

· Provides advice, technical assistance, and counseling on a wide range of human resources needs, as assigned;

· Serves in a support role to The Magic House Volunteer program;

· Develops, edits, and maintains job descriptions;

· Provide administrative support to the Director of Human Resources;

· Participates in trainings as required by the organization;

· Perform other duties as assigned;

Qualifications

· Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree required;

· Two to three years HR generalist experience;

· Experience working with an HRIS/ATS, preferably Paycor;

· Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills;

· Demonstrated excellence in organization and time management skills;

· Excellent customer service skills-helpful, friendly and patient attitude;

· Ability to work effectively as a team member, as well as independently;

· Ability to multi-task with a high level of output, detail, and accuracy;

· Strong work ethic;

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office application;
