Tully Rinckey PLLC, a full-service law firm with offices across the United States is seeking a Content Development Strategist to join our team in our Albany, NY office. The Content Development Strategist supports the firm’s marketing efforts by collaborating with firm attorneys, members of the media, and marketing staff to write, develop and deploy strategic content in print and online mediums that demonstrates the thought leadership and legal acumen of the firm and its attorneys. This position reports directly to the firm’s Chief Marketing Officer.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborating with firm attorneys to develop and write concise article content that showcases attorney’s legal knowledge and skills for print and online publications. This content must be timely given the news cycle and meet the highest journalistic standards.

2. Collaborating with firm attorneys and support staff to write and develop and update website biographies.

3. Developing and updating practice area content to be posted on the firm’s website.

4. Preparing attorney award nomination submissions.

5. Editing content developed by firm attorneys and other marketing staff.

6. Reviewing and editing press releases and media advisories developed by the firm’s Media Relations Associate. Meeting with the Media Relations Associate to coordinate outreach for article pitching.

7. Coordinating and developing content for the firm’s social media platforms.

8. Collaborating with marketing staff and firm attorneys to develop marketing letters, advertising copy, marketing collateral, presentations, marketing pitches, and client presentations.

9. Collaborate with firm attorneys and the firm executive management team to develop and finalize legal Requests for Proposals (RFPs).

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in writing, communications, PR, marketing, journalism or a related field;
• 1-2 years of experience as a copywriter or developing marketing collateral preferred;
• Prior experience in a print journalism role preferred, with the ability to quickly and efficiently develop concise op-eds, articles, media advisories, and press releases conforming to Associated Press style;
• Ability to distill complex legal topics into concise language understandable to the general public and potential clients;
• Strong project management skills and ability to focus on multiple deadlines;
• Exceptional written communication skills and strategic earned media thinking.
