Job Overview:
The primary goal of this position is to assist the LEAD Case Managers, to facilitate, manage and coordinate the linkage of BCRI participants with other service providers, Recovery agencies and institutions. The Peer Recovery Specialist will also provide effective services including advocacy, mentoring, education, support recovery, and engage in ethical responsibility. To support this goal the following objectives/responsibilities are expected:

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education:
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent, Required.
Credentials:
None, Required.
Peer Support Specialist Certification, Preferred.
Experience:
Lived experience with a mental health and/or addition disorder, Required.
Must possess experiential expertise dealing with our focus areas of treatment. Knowledgeable of the integrated services and resources provided by the public behavioral health system in Baltimore City, Required.
Prior experience supporting non-profit operations, Preferred.
Additional:
Valid and unrestricted driver’s license, Required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Products, Preferred.
Physical Demands:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or computer workstation.
Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and reaching.
Must be able to lift weights up to 50 pounds at times.
Moderate walking, standing, climbing stairs, and sitting.
Transportation of clients and their belongings in agency vehicles.
Minimal support and assistance with client care needs.
