Under general direction of the Personnel Program Manager II or Division Chief, the Staff Services Manager I (Specialist) is responsible for research and analysis necessary to build information into the Enterprise Data Management tool. This includes research as it relates to the current and historical salary relationship records, review of salary structure data including salary relationship charts and historical board item packages, policy research and review, pay equity research and analysis, and consultation with Personnel Management Division (PMD) consultants. The incumbent also provides support to the Labor Relations Division and may serve as a subject matter expert on pay records.

A couple tips to share for the exam and Statement of Qualifications:

Take your time to think about your response in answering the questions. Also check spelling. - For the ‘exam,’ the exams are questions around your experience. Include all your experience from every job to volunteer work, internships, leading groups and/or projects, and more. Don’t sell yourself short. Before you start the exam, review the sample questions in the exam bulletin. This gives you a sense of what we’ll ask you. Have your resume handy.
