Position Overview 

Seeking a dynamic HR Manager to join our team and as a Human Resource leader in our La Crosse, Wisconsin location. We are seeking a go-getter, with a passion for people, process and building a strong employee-centric culture. This role will utilize your skills in tactical, operational and strategic HR, with a passion for continuous improvement to accompany our rapid growth and expansion (we are building a new state-of-the-art factory to open in 2025). As an integral member of our organization, the HR Manager will report directly to the Vice President of Human Resources and play a pivotal role in shaping the company's people-centric culture, driving employee engagement, and developing effective HR strategies and initiatives that align with our overall business objectives. 

Key Responsibilities 

  1. Strategic Human Resources Leadership:
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and the VPHR to develop and implement HR strategies that align with the company's long-term goals.
  • Drive initiatives for talent acquisition, workforce planning, engagement strategies, succession planning, and employee development to meet current and future organizational needs.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and HR technology utilization to streamline HR operations and enhance efficiency.

2. Talent Management and Development:

  • Partner with our HR Business Partner in the talent acquisition process, ensuring we attract and retain top talent by creating a compelling employer brand and competitive recruitment strategies.
  • Implement performance management systems to support ongoing employee development, feedback, and growth.
  • Promote a learning and development culture by designing and facilitating training programs that address skill gaps and enhance employees' capabilities.

3. Employee Engagement and Culture Building:

  • Work with the VPHR and HR team in efforts to foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting employee engagement and well-being.
  • Help design and implement initiatives to recognize and reward employee contributions, boosting motivation and morale. 

4. HR Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant labor laws, regulations, and company policies, minimizing potential HR-related risks.
  • Advise leadership on HR-related legal matters, providing guidance on sensitive employee relations issues and conflict resolution.

5. Total Rewards:

  • Assist in the development and administration of compensation-related initiatives such as annual increases, job leveling and market trends, and bonus plan administration.
  • Help support as needed in areas of benefits administration and payroll processing.

  • Thorough knowledge of HR principles, best practices, and employment laws 
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills 
  • Knowledge of adult learning approaches and ability to present and facilitate to groups 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while ensuring a positive employee experience
  • Strong sense of responsibility and follow-through 
  • Demonstrate a passion for people and customer service 
  • Drive to further advance your skill and professional development 
  • Comfortable being out on the factory floor and interacting with all employees 

Requirements

 Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent experience 
  • 4 years HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment 
  • People leadership experience preferred 
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build positive relationships at all organizational levels 
  • Professional level HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred
