Job Summary

Responsible for the day-to-day management of Best Materials web-based roofing supply business, including administration, purchasing, accounting, inside, counter, and outside sales, warehousing, and delivery.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the business to ensure sales are maximized, customer expectations are met, orders are promptly processed and filled and administration is efficient.
• Provide leadership, direction, support and coaching to team members by defining role responsibilities, establishing performance expectations, monitoring associate performance, recognizing superior contributions and addressing performance or conduct issues.
• Oversee the purchasing function and 32,000 SKU inventory to optimize product availability, inventory turnover, vendor relationships, and cost.
• Work with the Director to formulate and and implement the company's business and operational plan to ensure achievement of revenue and profit goals.
• Lead the sales function and team to maximize profitable revenue growth.
• Manage the warehousing function to ensure efficient operation and accurate inventory.
• Optimize the company website communications and orders to maximize profitable revenue growth.

Nature and Scope

• Solutions require analysis and investigation.
• Achieves planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, business principles, and practical experience.
• Manages a group or team of professional individual contributors and/or indirectly supervises support staff.

Work Environment

• Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
• Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
• Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Education and Experience

• Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 7 years of experience in a related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5 years managing a comparable business.
• Experience liasoning with various departments, including, but no limited to accounting, tax, training, purchasing etc.
