JOB TITLE: Medical Billing Specialist

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

The Medical billing specialist will process and follow up on billing, review medical claim forms to verify proper reimbursement, and adjust, as necessary.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

· Report any misconduct, suspicious or unethical activities to the Compliance Officer.

· Represent the Company in a professional and courteous manner in all interactions with client/patients.

· Route client/patient referrals to the appropriate department or individual(s) in the Company.

· Communicate client information necessary to schedule home medical equipment services.

· Assist in resolving client complaints; take corrective action, and monitor results. Facilitate questions/problems/conflicts that occur throughout the day.

· Must become a subject matter expert on Medicare/Medicare Advantage billing for Ventilator rentals and related respiratory equipment and supplies.

· Must become a subject matter expert for all insurance payers’ billing protocols for Ventilator rentals and related respiratory equipment and supplies.

· Must developed a weekly report specifically for the Ventilator rentals and IPV outlining their status.

· Manage the outsourced accounts receivable process ensuring that accounts receivable are either paid, appealed or written off timely.

· Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & SKILL REQUIREMENTS

· Bachelors diploma or equivalent required.

· Minimum of four years BT billing and accounts receivable experience with direct knowledge of price tables, insurance groups and plans.

· Effective interpersonal, time management and organizational skills.

· Strong communication skills in speaking and writing.

· Organizational skills sufficient to maintain consistently accurate records.

· Ability to recognize and direct information to the appropriate health care provider.

· Computer skills that include word processing, and efficient use of the internet and e-mail.

· Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of excel, including data analysis tools.

· Insurance reimbursement knowledge and health insurance billing experience.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

· Must have experience with Ventilator billing.

· Must have experience with Medicare billing.

· Durable medical equipment billing a plus.

· Brightree experience a plus.

JOB TYPE & PAY:

· Full-time position.

· Pay range of $46,000 to $52,000.
