Billing Specialist
SAN ANTONIO, TX
MUST HAVE MEDICAL BILLING EXPERIENCE!!

Reports to: Billing Manager

The Billing Specialist is responsible for calling and collecting all patient payments. Transactions required including (but not exclusive to) refunds, approving duplicate payment transactions, credit card processing, payment plans, past due invoices and updating patient files.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Collecting Patient Payments.
• Patient invoicing
• Answering incoming telephone calls.
• Quoting transportation services.
• Scanning and attaching paperwork to patient files.
• Communication.
• Problem Solving.
• Empathy.
• Negotiation.
• Attention to Detail.
• Work with the compliance department on all DOI inquires.
• Interface with internal customer service on customer inquiries.
• Report process flow issues to Billing Manager.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Bilingual is a plus.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• 2 years billing experience.
• Works well in an environment with firm deadlines; results oriented
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.
• Strong use of keyboard shortcuts; 10 keys.
• Must have strong knowledge of billing and financial concepts.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Working conditions are in an office environment. Physical requirements include lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally. Subject to sitting, standing and walking for long periods of time. Requires speech, hearing, and visual acuity.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
