The Senior Process Engineer within the Clorox Company is committed to delivering manufacturing breakthroughs, product initiatives, cost savings, supply assurance, and equipment reliability projects with excellence. As part of the Technical Services Organization, you will directly connect to championing both the consumer and your teammates to be well and thrive every day. The Technical Services Business Unit is at the forefront of delivering the next generation manufacturing systems, packaging lines, enabling sustainable packaging, or designing a new plant equipment, ready to meet the business challenges head-on. Working in a participative team-based environment, using Continuous Improvement (CI) processes and principles, the Senior Process Engineer participates on teams developing, designing, installing and starting-up new product, product improvements and technology upgrades for projects. Assignments emphasize the integration of knowledge in the specialist’s discipline. You will plan and lead small and medium sized projects with limited supervision and participate on teams as an expert in the discipline. This individual will also engage with external manufacturers for qualification of raw materials and product changes, particularly for the Business Unit, and periodically assist the manufacturing plants with process troubleshooting and improvements. In collaboration with others, you will define, manage, and critically review work products from R&D and others to provide scope input, detail for equipment system, control system, cost estimates and other engineering work for the Business Units. Owns activities or participates in activities associated with R&D development trials and manufacturing readiness trials. In this role, you will: People and Leadership Support or lead capital project teams and CI initiatives. Ability to coach and develop self and others in the course of completing work assignments. Must have the ability to effectively communicate and influence others through verbal and written forms. Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively organize and lead meetings. Participate in and share information on technical seminars for Maintenance and Operations in order to stay up to date on current trends, changes, and technological advancements. Develop personal skills and mentor / train teams (Engineering, Maintenance, and Operational) on new techniques, etc. Key advocate for Engineering innovation Embrace and champion Clorox Capital Project Management One Right Way process. Safety and Core Technical Services Objectives Actively participate in the CI of business and project safety performance by supporting the safety programs and initiatives Deliver project safety performance objectives. Lead cost savings initiatives and manage project spending. Support environmental sustainability goal achievement during project planning and execution. Lead reliability engineering projects for manufacturing efficiency improvement. Experience in the application of reliability tools. Technical Leader and Business Ownership Provides solid input and insight to the team on business and engineering needs and proposals. Support and drive regulatory compliance where applicable. Manage projects in accordance with Clorox Engineering Standards and processes to achieve required results, timing, and budgetary targets. Critically review the engineering recommendations and work of others particularly in the case of using 3rd party engineers for detailed design support. What we look for: Engineering Degree (BSME or BSChE preferred) Other engineering disciplines considered with previous manufacturing or engineering experience and demonstrated success. 5 years of engineering experience Experience with leading or participating on capital project teams is a MUST. Background in consumer-packaged good's environment is preferred. Experience in planning and leading new process or equipment system commissioning and start-up. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, SAP or equivalent, and utilization of Engineering Standards Problem solving, data collection, and analysis skills. CI / TPM / Lean Manufacturing processes and techniques Proven skills to effectively document and communicate technical information. High level of initiative and ability to drive results. Change management experience and discipline. Good business judgment with ability to calibrate with business objectives. Demonstrated ability to achieve quality results and meet deadlines.
