Duties
- If selected at the GS-11 level, the below responsibilities will be performed in a developmental capacity.
- Responsible for providing data collection processes, applying statistical analysis and developing recommendations for management decisions to improve product quality.
- Manage the overall activities of the Quality Audit Program and coordinates functions with Technical Services Contracting and Production and Supply Operations Divisions where interface occurs.
- Develop implementing instructions and adjusts operating procedures as required and provides guidance on a broad range of perishable and semi-perishable items having extremely diverse product characteristics and widely varying Inspection techniques.
- Conduct visits with military and/or civilian personnel in order to investigate reported discrepancies, differences of opinion between quality audit personnel and other related problems concerning the quality of material.
- Review contracts, technical data, and product and packaging characteristics in all audit items to ensure currency of all specifications and technical data cited.
- Develop monthly report of results of audits conducted summarizing product quality, audit performance, type and extent of non-conformances and action taken for submission to DLA and military services.

Qualifications
A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. To qualify at the GS-11 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
GS-11:
- Assisting in reviewing production activities and capabilities in light of contract quality requirements.
- Participating in reviewing and evaluating supply systems operations and procedures through periodic audits and surveillance inspections.
- Investigating customer complaints and deficiency reports, and providing identification of causes to appropriate authorities with assistance.
- Providing data collection processes, applying statistical analysis and developing recommendations for management decisions to improve product quality.
- Providing guidance to auditors on a broad range of perishable and semi-perishable items having extremely diverse product characteristics and widely varying Inspection techniques.
- Conducting continuing analysis and evaluation of the activity by reviewing customer complaints, Unsatisfactory Material Reports and reports submitted by Quality Assurance personnel.

GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours that your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.
