Responsibilities:

• Food preparation and execution as directed by Head Chef and/or Sous Chef

• Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen/dining room including but not limited to tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range, refrigeration equipment, and floors

• Wash all pots, pans, utensils, food preparation equipment, dishes, etc.

• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

• Maintain close communication with management in various forms including but not limited to phone calls, emails, and text messages.

• Stock supplies, such as food or utensils, in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, or salad bars.

• Assist in unloading and putting away truck deliveries

• Ability to work well as part of a team.

• Basic understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures

• Familiar with the industry's best practices

• 2 years in a full-service restaurant as a prep/line cook

• May be required to hold a valid food handlers sanitation certification (May vary based on state/county regulations)

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times (deliveries, inventory).

• Some exposure to cleaning chemicals

Preferred Education and Experience:

• 2-3 years food service skills

• Ability to pass a background check

• High school or vocational school coursework in kitchen basics such as food safety, preferred.
