U.S. Mint is Hiring an Information Technology Specialist (APPSW/INET) Near Washington, DC

Duties

As an Information Technology Specialist (APPSW/INET), you will:

  • Plan, lead, and coordinate studies relating to IT mobile, web applications, client/server applications and SharePoint Apps to include testing, adjusting and or improving existing IT mobile and web applications for the United States Mint.
  • Lead participation in the planning, development, and implementation of mobile, web applications, client/server applications and SharePoint Apps or e-Government sites used to deliver services to the internal/external customers; coordinate the acquisition, installation, and configuration of the end-to-end infrastructure supporting the application; and ensuring the availability and security of the applications is adhered to.
  • Lead IT mobile, web applications, client/server applications and SharePoint Apps initiatives, committees, and study efforts pertaining to assigned program area, services, and operations, and provide liaison and pertinent information to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead, coordinate and collaborate with the Office of the Chief Counsel on issues relating to policy, copyrights, licensing, and trademarked products donated to the United States Mint. Lead discussions with appropriate agency personnel and outside entities as applicable on the development and approval of content that caters to a worldwide audience.
  • Lead analyses to define opportunities for new or improved business process solutions; consult with stakeholders to identify and specify requirements; develop overall functional and systems requirements and specifications; conduct business process reengineering; conduct feasibility studies and trade-off analyses; prepare business cases for the application of IT solutions; define systems scope and objectives; develop cost estimates for new or modified systems.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized experience: For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
- Leading business system projects with varying technologies, utilizing project management fundamentals, PMP preferred but not required; AND
  • Development, Testing or Administrative experience with Web Content Management Systems (examples are Drupal, SharePoint, WordPress, Joomla, Mangento, Adobe Experience Manager, Salesforce) AND
  • SAFe 5.0/6.0 Scrum Master certification or Scrum Alliance Scrum Master certification; AND
  • Experience communicating with customers and users of technology to understand and document user requirements AND
  • Experience providing IT services; integrating application software; AND
  • Participating in technological planning, product evaluation, or report development
In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

This position requires that the successful candidate undergo personnel vetting, which includes a background investigation and enrollment upon onboarding into "Continuous Vetting." Enrollment in Continuous Vetting will result in automated record checks being conducted throughout one's employment with Treasury. The successful candidate will also be enrolled into FBI's Rap Back service, which will allow Treasury to receive notification from the FBI of criminal matters (e.g., arrests, charges, convictions) involving enrolled individuals in near real-time.
