Within EXO, LSS provides a wide range of services and technology products that help attorneys Division-wide acquire, organize, develop, and present evidence in support of an investigation or case.

Duties
As an Information Technology Specialist (Scripting), responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Writing code using regular expressions and scripting languages, using tools such as Perl, Python, SQL, VBA, JavaScript, C, C , PowerShell.
Integrating custom developed scripts within a Cloud based infrastructure, such as Azure and AWS.
Setting up and maintaining online file sharing systems.
Interpreting complex technical requirements into practical terms for Electronically Stored Information (ESI) processing, coding layout design, and implementation of scripting solutions.
Creating and maintaining documentation to support custom developed solutions using an approved coding framework, including use of a script library and preparation of configuration change management documentation.
Providing training on developed tools and on the functionality and capabilities of LSS provided applications, as well as creating user documentation and technical specifications to aide in software training, addressing special handling of unique electronic data productions.
Consulting on best practices regarding Electronic Discovery (eDiscovery) processing, loading, scanning, and troubleshooting.
Assisting in eDiscovery negotiation calls and meetings.
Providing direction for the processing of ESI from seized forensic images and loading of productions received from producing parties.
Serving as a resource in the areas of deduplication, use of search terms, Technology Assisted Review (TAR), Early Case Assessment (ECA), and evaluation of discovery burden claims.
Reviewing TAR proposals for potential issues, providing technical advice, and participating in negotiations.
Developing, reviewing, and maintaining production specifications and load file/processing checklists.
Reviewing and evaluating different litigation support techniques that can be adapted to the environment.
Researching and developing, evaluating, testing, administering, documenting, training, and troubleshooting new litigation support tools.
Serving as a technical advisor in discovery negotiations for corporate database information and transactional data used in investigations.
Writing instructions and documentation and writing and reviewing ESI documentation and data extraction guidelines.
Implementing and monitoring various litigation support applications such as TrialDirector, CaseMap, iPro, TimeMap, TextMap, LAW PreDiscovery, and Relativity, as well as the evaluation of new tools.
Performing configuration, quality assurance verification, system testing, troubleshooting and implementation for LSS provided applications.
Resolving time sensitive problems that may involve user access issues, major outages such as server failure due to defective hardware, and failed field office communications when network communication links go down.
Providing detailed analysis of problems encountered and the steps taken to correct the identified issues.
Ensuring complete and accurate testing of software and system upgrades.
Assisting in the development and execution of proof-of-concept testing plans for anticipated software and hardware releases.
Staying informed of industry trends and new offerings through regular review of industry publications, attendance at training and trade show events.

This is a bargaining unit position. This position is represented by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, Local 3719, AFL-CIO.
This is a full-time, non-supervisory, permanent appointment in the competitive service, subject to a one-year probationary period in accordance with 5 C.F.R. 315.801.
The Antitrust Division participates in the E-Verify program.
Qualifications
To qualify at the GS-14 level your resume must reflect at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level. Specialized experience is experience that has provided you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position as described above, and that is typically in or related to this position being filled. This experience must be identified in your resume. Examples of qualifying specialized experience at the GS-13 level include:
Using regular expressions and scripting languages in multiple tools;
Integrating developed scripts within a Cloud based infrastructure;
Interpreting technical requirements into practical terms for Electronically Stored Information (ESI);
Converting and manipulating production data; and
Familiarity with the setup and maintenance of online file sharing systems.
To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the specialized experience required for the grade level(s) to which you apply and you must meet the following basic requirements.
