TSNE is Hiring a Program Manager Near Boston, MA

Overview:

The Basics (thebasicsboston.org)mission is to pursue both equity and excellence, by building community capacity to engage and support parents and other caregivers of young children in their roles as the most important influences in their children's lives. The Basics deploys a community-level public health strategy, working within and across organizations to embed The Basics Principlesfive evidence-based practices for promoting early childhood developmentinto routine family engagement efforts.

The Basics is a fiscally sponsored organization of TSNE (tsne.org).

Responsibilities:

The Program Manager will primarily be responsible for day-to-day management and implementation of Basics Insights, a text-messaging tool for organizations that sends parents and caregivers information and strategies for applying The Basics Principles in everyday interactions with their children. Basics Insights plays a key role in our efforts to disseminate The Basics Principles at scale. The Program Manager will also assist The Basics team in project and program management for The Basics Learning System (LMS) including new community onboarding and other tasks as needed. This position is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team and be part of a growing movement to improve outcomes for young children.

Essential Functions

Basics Insights; Basics Learning System (BLS)

  • Partner Support
    • Support partner organizations during onboarding processes and provide ongoing technical assistance.
    • Monitor usage to ensure programs are running smoothly and meeting targets.
    • Conduct monthly Basics Insights partner invoicing and coordinate with fiscal sponsor organization, Third Sector New England (TSNE), to keep invoicing and contracts current.
    • Present on Basics Insights and the BLS in various settings.
    • Create custom Basics logos for new communities.
    • Assist new communities with the setup of customized websites.
  • Program Development
    • Meet regularly with other The Basics team members and its technology partner to prioritize areas for program development/enhancements.
    • In collaboration with the Director of Learning and Innovation, other Basics team members, and external experts, contribute to the development of new program content (e.g., text messages, BLS courses) and partner support documents.
    • Support institutions and communities in creating and implementing custom Basics Insights programs and Basics Learning System courses.
    • Ensure that all program documentation remains up to date.
  • Project Management
    • Assist The Basics team in defining project scopes, goals, and deliverables.
    • Support The Basics team members in project related tasks.
    • When applicable, communicate with external vendors involved in projects.

Other Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the Director of Learning and Innovation and other The Basics team members, contribute to evaluation and program development projects such as literature reviews, case studies (Playbooks), and surveys.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of other tools and materials for sharing the Basics Principles with families.
  • Perform data entry.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

We will consider exceptional candidates who demonstrate a strong combination of the specific qualifications and skills described below.

  • 3 years experience in education technology, early education, family engagement, public health and/or nonprofit organizations
  • Knowledge of early childhood development.
  • Experience engaging with and providing support to diverse stakeholders; strong relational and customer service skills.
  • Comfortable learning new technology platforms.
  • A creative thinker and problem-solver.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Self-directed and able to take initiative.
  • Willing to pitch in as part of a small, dynamic team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite, project management software (e.g., Monday.com), Canva, online survey tool (e.g., Typeform, Qualtrics, Google) and virtual meeting platforms a plus.
  • Experienced with statistical software such as Stata a plus
  • Experience with undergraduate- or entry-level research or program evaluation (quantitative or qualitative)

Compensation and Benefits

Location: Work will be primarily performed hybrid, based in Boston, MA.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $58,000 - $63,000/yr. and is commensurate with experience.
