Trinity Careers is Hiring a HR Generalist Near Dallas, TX

Trinity Industries is seeking an HR Generalist for our Dallas HQ. This role will provide HR support to Enterprise functional areas.

Key responsibilities are in various HR disciplines, including but not limited to HR Administration (budget related), employee relations, compensation, organizational and employee development, leaves of absence, etc.

  • Business Partner and support for a multi-site/state operation
  • Partner with business leaders for annual initiatives such as compensation planning, performance management, goals, etc.
  • Using HRIS System, assist with the processing of employee changes, promotions, disciplinary action, etc./Will also use the HRIS System to provide back-up support for the HR Helpdesk
  • Using Kronos System to ensure payroll is reviewed and approved for processing for multiple locations
  • Administer and coordinate compliance of Drug and Alcohol Program for the RSI locations
  • Address employee relations issues, work complaints, or other employee questions for multiple locations. May get involved with employee ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) process
  • Coordinate with employees and managers for leaves of absence, including FMLA, ADA, military leaves, etc.
  • Administer, interpret and explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations
  • Monitor and drive completion of employees’ required ethics and compliance coursework
  • Conduct exit interviews and ensure that necessary employment termination processes are completed
  • Conduct orientation for new hire employees and assist with benefits enrollment
  • Work with Talent Acquisition in recruiting and screening potential candidates 
  • Monitor Sterling system throughout the onboarding process of candidates
  • Complete and monitor eRailsafe background check, safety training and badge program 
  • Notify EHS manager of new hires to add to Industry Safe training
  • Assist Terminal Management with IT issues, TSM ticket requests
  • Help plan and coordinate Plant activities such as Employee luncheons, charity drives, employee recognition events, etc.
  • Will perform project work and other duties as assigned
  • Bachelor Degree or 4 or more years of experience in a Human Resources role
  • Analytical skills required
  • Knowledge of DOT hiring and compliance
  • Safety Compliance knowledge
  • Ability to handle highly confidential matters in a professional manner
  • Must have general knowledge of HR Management principles and practices
  • Strong experience in MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with ability to tailor communication style for the audience
  • Strong sense of urgency, multi-task and ability to prioritize work and meet numerous deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching skills
  • Must be able to travel up to 25%
