- Assist in the negotiation of competitive rates while staying current on market trends and pricing.
- Ensure that communication of load details and shipment parameters to carrier dispatch and drivers throughout the lifespan of the shipment is in compliance.
- Oversee the monitoring of shipments on a daily basis to ensure coverage, on-time performance and address any in-transit issues.
- Effectively manage the communication of load statuses, issues, and concerns to sales representatives in a timely and effective manner
- Assist the team in learning and implementing effective sales skills.
- Hire, train, and develop new team members.
- Ability to lead and motivate a sales team towards common goals.
- Problem solving skills.
- 5-7 years of previous Carrier Sales experience within a 3PL environment, with a minimum of 2 years at a managerial level.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Strong negotiation skills; attention to detail and accuracy; highly organized
- Flexibility/willingness to take responsibility for shipments outside of normal business hours
- Team-oriented while being self-motivated and hardworking.
- Highly motivated to succeed and the ability to thrive in a competitive environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to remain persistent and positive.
