We are looking for a talented Human Resources Manager to join our corporate HR team. This position will be based in our Operations Headquarters in McKinney, TX.

Summary/Objective 
 The Human Resources Manager performs duties at the professional level in all of the following functional areas: employee relations, training, employment, benefits management and payroll functions. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels within the organization. Our Human Resources Manager must be sensitive to corporate needs, employee goodwill, and the business needs.

Employee Relations

  1. Responds to employee relations issues such as employee complaints and questions.
  2. Coaches, counsels and guides managers before executing employee disciplinary actions.
  3. Manages and tracks all employee disciplinary action.
  4. Monitors tardy and absenteeism to ensure proper documentation is issued.
  5. Responds to all unemployment notices in a timely, efficient manner. Attends unemployment hearings when necessary.
  6. Monitors employee performance evaluations to ensure they are done in a timely manner.
  7. Reports, maintains and monitors all workers' compensation case files; follows-up on open cases.

Training

  1. Schedules required training to include safety and on-boarding requirements for each department.
  2. Enroll new hire employees in the proper brand training sessions.
  3. Track training needs to ensure compliance with brand requirements.

Employment

  1. Conducts recruitment efforts for all exempt and nonexempt employees; writes and places advertisements; works with supervisors to screen and interview candidates; conducts reference checking; extends job offers.
  2. Coordinates scheduling of temporary workers with outside agencies based on business needs.
  3. Schedules and conducts new-employee orientations.
  4. Maintains all employee and applicant documentation as dictated by governing agencies.
  5. Maintains employee personnel files.
  6. Monitors employee performance evaluations to ensure they are done in a timely manner.
  7. Ensures compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations. 

Benefits Management

  1. Monitors employee eligibility for benefits plans. 
  2. Reviews benefits with employees and processes enrollment, cancellation or changes in a timely manner. 
  3. Facilitates annual open enrollment communications and election process.
  4. Verifies benefit billing accuracy and processes for payment.

Payroll

  1. Compiles payroll data such as garnishments, vacation and sick time and any other benefit deductions that affect the processing of payroll.
  2. Reviews timecards from the electronic timekeeping system for completeness and accuracy and to ensure all time is approved by department supervisors.
  3. Contacts various department supervisors for any missed times.
  4. Processes bi-weekly transfer of payroll data to A1HR.
  5. Compiles internal management reports from payroll system software as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Minimum of 4 years experience in an HR capacity role with 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.
  • This role will require regular travel to the hotels and marinas...up to 50%.

Working Conditions & Physical Effort:

Physical work is a primary part of many of our hotel and resort jobs. Physical requirements include extended standing and walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and lifting to 50 lbs. Some work is performed in an interior hotel environment with equipment and machines. The work involves exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dirt, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. The exposure to hazards or physical risks requires following basic safety precautions and use of applicable protective equipment.
