Job Description

Plan, organize, and manage the in-house details for groups and conference bookings (eg. guest rooms, menus, set-up, audio visual etc.) 

We are looking for a talented Convention Services Manager to join our team!

ORGANIZATIONAL SCOPE: Responsible for the management and planning of meetings/conventions and related activities. Recommends and implements procedural changes and performs as team leader for all hotel department staffs participating in the event delivery process.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Serve as liaison between Sales and the client by assisting with the planning of programs, helping to achieve individual and team goals by coordinating, event detailing and upselling convention-related business.
  •  Confirm the details of the program with the client including confirmation of space requirements, start and end times, audio visual, menus, etc. Prepare the appropriate group resumes and banquet event orders for the client and hotel staff. 
  •  Anticipate client concerns and offer immediate resolve, ensure overall satisfaction, and repeat business.

Job Requirements:

  • Through knowledge of conferences/catering, food & beverage and hospitality profession, practices and procedures in order to execute and manage functions.
  • Work with the Banquets team during events to exceed client expectations are met. 
  • Communicate with contacts throughout events to ensure the program is a success. 
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work with required due dates
  • Performs other duties as required by Management to provide 100% Guest Satisfaction and genuine hospitality to our Guests
  • Flexibility and team player. 
  • Positive and supportive communication with other hotel employees and other department is a must. 

Working Conditions & Physical Effort:

Physical work is a primary part of many of our hotel and resort jobs. Physical requirements include extended standing and walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and lifting to 50 lbs. Some work is performed in an interior hotel environment with equipment and machines. The work involves exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dirt, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. The exposure to hazards or physical risks requires following basic safety precautions and use of applicable protective equipment.
