ORGANIZATION SUMMARY

Agape Resource & Assistance Center, Inc. (Agape) is a transitional housing non-profit organization in Plano, Texas. For 10 years Agape has successfully empowered over 100 homeless women led families to move from crisis, poverty, and abuse to fulfilling, self-sustaining lives by providing safe, stable transitional housing and critical wrap around services. Over 75% of families served commit to increasing the economic stability of their families and graduate with increased education, higher income, and better jobs ready to live withing their means.

To ensure our graduates stay housed and to provide housing our workforce can afford, thereby preventing homelessness, Agape is expanding its continuum of care to provide safe, stable economically attainable housing in Jericho Village,an innovative urban village of 38 units of scaled income rental homes we are building in Wylie, Texas. Jericho Village will provide stable homes not only for women led families who graduate from Agape, but for other households who struggle each month to keep their families safely housed and viable. Building on the success of Agapes transitional housing program, Jericho Villagewill provide Empowerment Support Services on-site and available to all Villagers to help vulnerable households attain and retain increased stability.

Together Agape and Jericho Village (the Agencies) will provide a continuum of care allowing families to move from homeless to safe, stable housing and self-sufficiency.

Mission

To provide housing and transitional services to homeless single women, moms, and their children that empower them to move from homelessness and crisis to fulfilling, self-sustaining lives.

Purpose

To empower women with education, life skills, and the confidence to become self-sustaining. To help children understand their future isnt limited by what theyve experienced in the past.

POSITION SUMMARY

Agape is seeking an experienced, passionate, committed Resource Development Manager to serve a key role in creating, implementing and overseeing an innovative, diverse and successful resource development plans to raise public awareness about homelessness, poverty, abuse and affordable housing and the systemic needs Agape and Jericho Village meet, facilitate donor, corporate, grantor and volunteer development and raise revenue that allows Agape and Jericho Village to achieve the organizations purpose and strategic goals.

This position is responsible for working with the CEO, Board of Directors and Resource Development Committee for planning and coordinating all aspects of fund development and public relations for Agape and Jericho Village. This manager will provide leadership on all fundraising initiatives including special events, major gifts, planned giving, sponsorships, donor cultivation and grant writing and will identify, organize and manage the fundraising activities of the Agencies with a focus on new opportunities to obtain ongoing and increased support from corporations, public and private organizations, faith communities, and individuals.

Hours: Full time, exempt, 40 hours/week including some evenings and weekend, typically within the Agape office

PRIMARY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Planning

Working with CEO, Board and Resource Development Committee, develop and implement a comprehensive written annual resource development plan with strategies for donors and prospects in each Constituent Group (i.e., individuals, faith groups, organizations, community groups, corporations, etc.) to be approved by the Board.

Provide monthly reports to the CEO and the Board which measure progress towards achieving the plan.

Broaden Agapes fundraising by developing approaches such as planned giving, major gifts, digital campaigns, solicitation of bequests, corporate engagement, additional grantors, and endowment programs.

Grant Requests and Administration

Assist CEO with researching and writing grants for Agape and Jericho Village.

Work with CEO to cultivate relationships with grantors whose focus areas align with Agape and Jericho Village social impact.

Administer grant writing program monitoring deadlines, applications, denials, awards, documentation, and reporting. Follow up on denials to ascertain how the Agencies can achieve successful awards.

Provide timely reporting and ensure compliance as required by grant award documentation.

Administer draw requests for any funding source which operates through a draw down or reimbursement process.

Gifts Cultivation

Create and implement strategies for donor development and cultivation which will provide a diverse and sustainable funding base for the Agencies.

Keep up to date on current fundraising programs, practices and procedures used in the nonprofit sector and inform the leadership of techniques and approaches that would benefit the Agencies.

Create and implement major gifts program, planned giving program, and volunteer giving program.

Identify and pursue new sources of corporate and foundation funding.

Build and maintain relationships with major donors of all types, develop strategies for solicitation; solicit and coordinate the solicitation by Agency staff, Board, or volunteers, as appropriate.

Create and update collateral materials to support gift cultivation.

Develop and implement all aspects of direct donor contact including digital and physical mailings, appeal letters, and other donor contact as needed.

Ensure that the donor database information is current and accurate.

Acknowledge all gifts and donations.

Develop and maintain effective donor and volunteer appreciation activities that appropriately express the Agencies feeling of Exorbitant Gratitude.

Events and Campaigns:

Develop and implement a variety of events and campaigns tailored to accommodate the staff capacity and available resources of the Agencies. Include digital and in person activities and campaigns that entice and engage each Constituent Group (e.g., North Texas Giving Day).

Plan, promote, manage, and oversee all Agape and Jericho Village events and campaigns. Enlist and engage volunteers to effectively facilitate and support events and campaigns.

Promote events and campaigns to the business community as a way to meet their corporate values, support the community and support the Agencies.Provide support to Constituent Groups that want to host an event.

Work with appropriate staff and volunteers to ensure that all aspects of successful events and campaigns are coordinated towards a common goal.

Develop and solicit sponsors for Agape and Jericho housing units, Program Areas, family holiday support and events as needed.

Public Relations and Marketing:

Write press releases and media alerts.

Develop and maintain media contacts with area media outlets.

Oversee and direct all media relations, social media communication, media production, web sites and general branding of the Agencies and their programs.

Create and update marketing materials, both physical and digital.

Build and sustain working relationships and communication with community associations; housing advocates and coalitions; business leaders; lenders; grant funders; faith-based organizations and churches; school administrators, schools, universities, and youth groups; municipalities and other institutions.

QUALIFICATIONS

B.A./B.S. preferred with an emphasis or concentration in business, marketing, public relations, or related field.

Two five years professional development and non-profit fund-raising experience.

Experience and contacts in Collin County are a plus.

Advanced computer skills and expert proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Donor database experience desirable).

Desire to work as part of a team and willingness to promote the principles, mission, and values of the Agencies.

Ability to work with minimal supervision self-motivated & confident.

Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Ability to work well with people from all backgrounds with varying degrees of experience.

Ability to inspire, train, motivate, challenge, and supervise volunteers.

Confident public speaking and able to express ideas verbally and in writing.
