Located in the desirable Research Triangle Park region on the southwest side of Raleigh and a population of nearly 50,000 residents, Holly Springs offers a small-town atmosphere with a variety of opportunities that arise from a growing economy as the town is transitioning into a larger and more dynamic community.
This position will work in the fast-paced Utilities and Infrastructure Department. This professional position will play an essential role in delivering a wide range of civil and municipal engineering projects including the management, design, construction, and maintenance support of the Town’s infrastructure systems, including but not limited to utility, transportation, traffic management, geotechnical, stormwater, parks, greenways, and environmental systems. The annual starting salary is $72,593.56 (pay grade M) depending on qualifications and experience.
The Assistant Project Manager will work as part of the Project Team during the construction phase of a project and is responsible for facilitating and coordinating activities with consultants, contractors, inspectors, and permit agencies to deliver the project on schedule and within budget. The Assistant Project Manager will also advise the Project Team during the design phase of the project to identify potential constructability and cost issues during the design phase. The Assistant Project Manager will also investigate cost and schedule issues during the construction phase and recommend actions to the Project Team to mitigate those issues as well as assist other team members in monitoring the various construction activities. The Assistant Project Manager will monitor information and communications from the Contractor(s) during the construction phase to ensure that issues are prioritized and effectively resolved in a timely manner. The Assistant Project Manager will also assist and coordinated activities in the commissioning and close-out phases of the project. Responsibilities include working with other Town departments and external governmental agencies in a collaborative manner to achieve the goals of the Town. Responsibilities also include communicating effectively with citizens and elected officials to address concerns and inquiries concerning the Town’s infrastructure systems.
