BW Measurement Services is Hiring a Floor Measure Technician Near Kill Devil Hills, NC

We are seeking a Measurement Technician to become an integral part of our team! You will assist social scientists in educational research and data analysis.

We are looking to expand our business and are looking for qualified individuals to fill positions. The position is an Independent Contractor position. You will be responsible for paying your own federal, state and local taxes from monies received and will receive a 1099 income Tax Form at the end of the year for tax reporting purposes.

We need someone who can quickly and accurately use a measuring computer program. Estimates include carpet, tile, wood, laminate and vinyl. Ability to recognize sub floors, transitions and different types of flooring is preferred. You will be assigned jobsites, measure, and complete flooring condition reports.

The job requires you to work from home and in the field driving. In some areas it may require up to 200 miles a day. This job is for someone who likes driving. It involves driving to customers' home and measuring for flooring installations. (We will train you.) Looking for long term person. Must be on time, reliable, honest, be able to manage your schedule, communicate well with homeowners and clients we service. Comfortable and familiar using a PC and tablet. In a territory you will be assigned between 20-60 new measures per month. Saturdays may be required if a customer needs a weekend measure (but can offset with one day during the week). This job is 5 full days a week and half day on Saturday.

Requirements:

  • AGE - At least 18 years of age with a valid driver license.
  • VEHICLE - Must have your own dependable vehicle with proof of insurance. Supply your own gas.
  • BACKGROUND CHECK - Must complete a Background prior to starting.
  • PHYSICAL - Although the position is not physically demanding, applicants must be mobile enough to climb stairs. On occasion they may need to move pieces of furniture aside to measure and pull carpeting up enough to examine the condition of the underlying floors.
  • FINANCIAL - All associates are required to pay a small fee to rent the proper equipment we use for our measurements and sign a equipment contract.
  • EMAIL - You must have email cell phone, internet access, email account, & google map app for GPS

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $600.00 - $900.00 per week

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Construction: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Project management: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Driver's License (Required)

Shift availability:

  • Day Shift (Preferred)

Work Location: On the road
