Duties
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, and billing and coding for insurance purposes.
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Take and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers.
- Prepare patients for examinations and treatments by sterilizing instruments, setting up equipment, and ensuring a clean and organized environment.
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for testing.
- Provide patient education on medical conditions, treatment plans, and medication instructions.
- Assist with medical procedures such as wound care, dressing changes, and suture removal.
- Perform basic laboratory tests such as urinalysis and blood glucose monitoring.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a medical assistant program preferred.
- Certification or registration as a medical assistant is a plus.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficiency in medication administration and dosage calculations.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide patient-centered care.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
