Job Description: The company seeks an experienced Human Resources Manager to join the team in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, managing, and performing day-to-day operations of the Human Resource department, and the administration of the company’s HR policies, procedures, and programs. The candidate must also have excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.
The position offers a competitive compensation package and reports to the Executive Vice President.
Responsibilities: The candidate must:
Administer HR policies, procedures, and programs per company standards, review and recommend policy and procedure updates in compliance with federal and state employment regulations
Serve as point of contact for branch leadership and employees regarding any HR related issues and/or questions
Maintain personnel files and other Human Resources records; ensure files are maintained in accordance with legal requirements and company policies and procedures
Provide ongoing HR support, including PTO oversight, unemployment claims and appeals, talent management, benefits administration, Workers Compensation claims, payroll administration, and complaint investigation
Monitor federal, state, and local regulations to ensure compliance
Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies
Assist with employee training, employee relations and development, staff meetings, and other employee-related events
Monitor emerging HR trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to implement and enhance HR policies
Perform other related administrative duties as required
Requirements: The candidate should:
Have PHR or SHRM certification with 4 years of progressive Human Resources Management experience
Hold a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field OR have comparable experience
Have an HR Generalist background with broad knowledge of employment, compensation, organizational development, employee relations, training and development, and regulatory compliance
Possess the ability to objectively coach and counsel employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues
Have outstanding multi-tasking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to complete difficult assignments in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Possess strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication, organizational, and follow-through skills
Have passion and a high sense of urgency about Human Resource’s customers and providing professional services that advance the core business and employee engagement in the company’s success
Have the ability to work independently and solve complex problems without direct supervision
Have computer proficiency; preferably in Microsoft Office
