Supervises and mentors a team of HR data specialists, providing guidance, feedback, and professional development opportunities to foster a high-performing and cohesive team environment. Ensures efficient workflows and completion of objectives as they relate to employee data management, data review, approval processing, and reporting for all university employment related actions including appointments/reappointments, transfers, new hires, promotions, leaves of absence/sabbaticals, salary changes, position changes, and terminations. Researches and resolves complex system processing issues. Evaluates and makes recommendations to management for improvements to systems and processes that improve the customer experience. Responds to inquiries, resolves issues, and maintains relationships with clients from across the institution. Analyzes data and systems, prepares reports, and facilitates presentations for educational initiatives. This position requires a blend of operational expertise, leadership skills, and a strong understanding of HR policies and procedures.
Essential Functions* Coordinates the duties and tasks of team members. Monitors the internal workflow processes, reviews employee workload, and coordinates annual performance appraisals to ensure employees meet departmental and customer service expectations.
* Supervises staff, including hiring, distributing, and reviewing work, performance reviews, and documenting disciplinary actions and other human resource administration activities.
* Provides ongoing guidance, support, and training to new and existing team members across a variety of system platforms.
* Evaluates and makes recommendations to management regarding issues (i.e., business process workflows, utilization, and design) to identify gaps and areas of improvement, particularly using technology-based solutions.
* Coordinates the submission of payroll processing actions including salary adjustments, retries, and assignment sets to payroll. Works with payroll to develop solutions to complex technical issues.
* Responds to inquiries through CRM systems and resolves escalated issues.
* Establishes and maintains close relationships with RC and department representatives to facilitate the resolution of issues.
* Performs data audits and analyses, and prepares reports for management.
* Maintains and generates new SOPs as needed.
* Maintains HR functional area knowledge as it relates to all employee types.
Little physical effort required .Duties are primarily sedentary. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.
