Customer Service
The Metropolitan District is a non-profit municipal corporation chartered by the Connecticut General Assembly in 1929 to provide potable water and sewerage services on a regional basis.
Today, the MDC provides quality water supply, water pollution control, mapping, and household hazardous waste collection to eight member municipalities - Bloomfield, East Hartford, Hartford, Newington, Rocky Hill, West Hartford, Wethersfield and Windsor - and to portions of other towns in the region.
The Customer Service Department is looking to hire a full-time (40 hours / week) college intern for the MDC's summer internship program.
The Intern will report to Murphy Road in Hartford.
The program will begin on June 3, 2024 and end on August 2, 2024
EOE / AA / M / F / D / V DUTIES
Candidate will work within Customer Service billing structure and make contact with customers about their bills, water meters and schedule appointments for meter installations.
Candidate will document and record all contact information in customer account. Candidate will research and update corrections for returned customer mailings.
QUALIFICATIONS
College student currently enrolled in a BA, BS or Associate's program, in either business or communications. Prior customer service experience preferred.
The selected intern must possess a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Candidate must possess strong verbal & written communications skills to communicate with customers via telephone and email about their account history.
Candidate must have good organizational skills, pay close attention to detail and maintain good records.
