The Highlands at Wyomissing is Hiring a Human Resources Generalist Near Wyomissing, PA

Essential Functions:

  • Partners with leadership and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Advises employees and leadership on the implementation of policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Oversee administration of employee leaves of absence Including FMLA, ADA, Unpaid Leave, and short-term disability. Ensure that leaves are processed and tracked accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Administer Worker’s Compensation claims. Ensure workplace injury information is entered on a timely basis. Maintain communication with all stakeholders including vendor, employee, and supervisor. Communicate work restriction information to supervisor(s), when needed.
  • Assist with administration of employee benefits programs, including enrollment and maintenance of employee benefits records and communication of benefits information for new hires, during open enrollment, and for change in status events. Work with vendors, as appropriate. Routinely audits and reconciles deductions for employees and vendor invoices. 
  • Ensure compliance and clearance standards are met to permit employees to work by the first day of employment. Maintain communication with employees regarding clearance renewals. Provide notifications regarding past due clearances in accordance with local, state, and federal laws.
  • Ensures the privacy, security, and confidentiality of employees and potential employee information received and distributed via written or verbal communication.
  • Coordinate employee involvement programs such as employee assistance, employee meetings, wellness activities, etc.
  • Maintains human resource records and processes for functional areas of responsibility ensuring federal, state, and local licensing requirements are maintained, and compiles reports of information from the databases as needed. Periodically audits records and processes for compliance monitoring.
  • Monitors employee eligibility for benefits plans and reviews benefits with employees and processes enrollment, cancellation, or changes. Assists in the development of personnel policies and procedures. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to advance employee engagement and improve efficiency of the department and services provided.
  • This individual will also provide back-up support for payroll (vacation coverage, etc.).

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Associate degree and 5-7 years of HR experience, a bachelors’ degree and 3-5 years of HR generalist experience, or any similar combination of education and experience.
  • 3-5 years’ of HRIS experience.
  • Experience in health, human services, or community services field (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local labor legislation.
  • Strong follow-up skills and ability to work with little or no supervision, exhibiting strong proactive and efficient work ethic.
  • Results driven and comfortable operating with high expectations and accountability.
  • Comfortable and agile working with technology; Proficient in MS Office and other applications
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment, with competing priorities and deadlines
  • Strong analytical, assessment, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Demonstrated relationship building and influencing skills with experience providing complex and confidential support in a high-profile environment
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication and presentation skills, verbal and written

Certification and Licensure Requirements:

  • Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License and acceptable MVR check
  • PHR or SHRM-CP, or ability to obtain certification within 12 months.
