The Highlands at Wyomissing is Hiring a RN Unit Manager - Skilled Nursing Near Wyomissing, PA
Essential Functions:
Assists the Director of Nursing (DON) with operations of The Highlands Skilled Nursing unit focusing on regulatory compliance, human resources management and fiscal control.
Monitors care practices of nursing staff to determine staff education and development needs.
Advises DON employee evaluations including core competencies.
Assists with adequacy and appropriateness of staffing and assures appropriate nursing staff is scheduled to meet state and federal guidelines.
Plans, develops, and provides educational programming for Skilled Nursing to ensure consistent delivery of quality resident care.
Plans, presents, or arranges for presenters of educational programs to meet mandated continuing education requirements of Skilled Nursing staff.
Conducts competency teaching and training programs with RN, LPN, and CNA staff.
Researches programs and educational opportunities for Skilled Nursing resident care staff to participate in throughout the fiscal year.
Maintains training documentation in a timely, organized, and accessible manner. Interprets data and initiates goals and objectives utilizing this information.
Consistently communicates/collaborates with other departments/healthcare professionals to meet educational needs.
Serves as the hiring and training manager for new Skilled Nursing employees.
Interviews applicants and recommends hires for open positions in Skilled Nursing.
Recommends qualified applicants to the Director of Nursing.
Completes new hire packet for incoming Skilled Nursing staff.
Monitors new staff performance and orientation, completes orientation task lists, and provides recommendation when staff member can work independently.
Plans and presents an Orientation program for new Skilled Nursing staff according to regulations and changing industry standards.
Designs, implements, coordinates and facilitates programs that meet state and federal regulations and/or the training requirements of The Highlands, including General Orientation for newly hired staff, annual in-service training for special needs staff as required, and fire safety.
Supports the LNAC/RNAC with MDS completion for Traditional Skilled Nursing residents, acts as back up for LNAC/RNAC.
This position requires on call coverage and rotation.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing
1-3 Years of experience in Nursing Care
1-3 years’ director supervisory or management experience.
Multi-shift experience required
Experience in and the ability to drive a performance-based culture
Excellent Customer Experience, Relationship, and Service Attitude.
Strong follow-up skills and ability to work with little or no supervision, exhibiting strong proactive and efficient work ethic
Ability to function in a fast-paced environment, with competing priorities and deadlines

Demonstrated expertise in interpersonal communication and presentation skills, written and verbal
Certification and Licensure Requirements:
Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record Check
