The Compensation Manager will lead the development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs, policies, and procedures. The role will manage compensation administration to include: survey participation, job evaluation, salary structure development, incentive plan design, pay program administration, and other associated initiatives. The Compensation Manager ensures that base pay, incentive pay, and performance management programs remain competitive and conform to the current compensation strategy. The role will also direct data collection and analysis processes for market, pay equity, and other compensation studies.

The role requires a balance of strong analysis, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making capability coupled with effective communication, influencing, and consultative skills. This position functions in a matrixed reporting environment and requires strong collaboration and high agility to effectively meet the goals and objectives on time.

What you will do for Fay:

  • Lead the compensation analysis, evaluation, and determination of FLSA classification for new and existing positions using external and internal market data
  • Conduct market pricing using the appropriate survey sources, scope criteria, and survey job matches
  • Participate in salary survey programs including other salary and budget surveys as applicable to increase access to compensation data for salary administration
  • Develop position pay ranges using market-based processing
  • Develop and facilitate recurring pay reviews and updates to maintain market position and competitiveness
  • Support the development and application of pay administration guidelines; provide training and consultation
  • Consult on and drive consistency and norms for the development and administration of position titles
  • Utilize and maintain market pricing database to benchmark jobs, ensure competitiveness, and run reports to uncover trends, inconsistencies, and areas for improvement
  • Align incentive plans/ models through formal pay review and standardization of Terms and Conditions; perform recurring reviews to align to a consistent incentive comp model and philosophy
  • Partner with the Business Leadership & Talent Acquisition team to recommend compensation packages for internal and external job candidates
  • Assist with the proposal development, implementation, and maintenance of a Deferred Compensation Plan
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for the HR department and the organization regarding pay practices and policies
  • Work with the HRIS team in maintaining compensation modules and data for merit plans, bonus plans, job profiles, and reporting
  • Actively monitor pay equity and transparency legislation at the state and local level; ensure Fay compliance
  • Monitor and facilitate semi-annual minimum wage audits
  • Develop domain knowledge of Fay’s business to include an understanding of organizational goals and objectives
  • Maintain broad influence through ongoing development of relationships across the organization
  • Ensure compliance with Fay’s policies, processes, and practices
  • Maintain a current working knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations
  • Ensure audit and control processes are current and followed in compliance with Fay’s policies, department objectives, and federal and state requirements
  • Role model ethical standards, professionalism, and code of conduct; ensure demonstrated behaviors align with Fay's Values and Operating Principles
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

What you will bring to Fay:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, or related field required. MBA or Master’s degree preferred
  • 7 years’ progressive experience in Human Resources to include direct management of compensation & rewards
  • Direct experience with market-based compensation practices, compensation software and job evaluation methodologies
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification preferred
  • A broad base of experience in Human Resources to include previous HR Generalist/ business-facing roles
  • Preference for previous experience leading people/ leading teams to include the acquisition and allocation of resources, performance management and talent development
  • Direct experience supporting diverse business functions; financial services industry experience preferred
  • Previous experience with HR transformation within small to mid-size companies
  • Prior experience leading policy development and process/ workflow reviews
  • Strong compliance orientation; experience identifying and implementing quality measures and controls
  • Demonstrated experience leading initiatives across a distributed organization structure
  • Thorough knowledge of federal/ state employment laws and regulatory requirements
  • Experience with HRIS platforms such as ADP/ UltiPro/ UKG HRIS
  • Advanced capabilities and knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience with compensation tools and platforms, SQL and PowerBI preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships across the organization
