This full-time, salaried position is responsible for development and implementation of overnight recreation and leisure programming for teens and adults with disabilities at our Camp Allyn location in Batavia, Ohio. As Overnight Program Manager, you will provide on-site support and supervision to seasonal program staff while creating a community of inclusion, teamwork and safety. The Recreation Manager plays an essential role in the success and growth of Stepping Stones Recreation and Leisure programs.

Essential Functions:

• Ability to stand, push, pull, bend and walk/move quickly and continuously throughout the day.
• Ability to work effectively across departments, with members of the executive team, program team members, and volunteers with confidence and professionalism.
• Ability to delegate appropriate responsibilities to team members.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group settings and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to pay strong attention to detail and work effectively with meeting deadlines.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage the year-round overnight respite programs to ensure they meet the goals and program model of Stepping Stones.

o During September through April, overnight programs run bi-weekly, Friday evening through Sunday afternoon.

o During June through early August, overnight programs run weekly, Sunday afternoon though Thursday afternoon.

o Overnight Manager must be on site during all respite programs.

• Prepare, lead, adapt, and supervise each program session to meet the varying needs and abilities of the participants.
• Coordinate program operations with the R&L program staff (including Client Services, Compliance, Kitchen Staff, Maintenance, Nursing, Program Director, and HR).
• Ensure program staff complete documentation on participant experiences as required by state rules.
• Cultivate and develop new activities and program opportunities that reflect an understanding of current best-practices in recreation programming.
• Responsible for maintaining designated operating budgets.
• Oversee risk management and safety for participants/staff, including accident reporting, unusual incident and major unusual incident (UI and MUI) situations.
• Build a staff and program culture that provides a fun, positive, and inclusive experience for participants, families, staff, and volunteers.
• Be relatable and comfortable with participants and families.
• Work with the R&L Program Director to hire, train, and monitor work performance of staff, as well as provide ongoing training and professional development as needed.
• Any other duties as required.

Qualifications:

• This position requires experience in recreation/camp program development, staff training, and supervision.
• Demonstrated experience in program planning and development.
• Commitment to Stepping Stones mission, purpose, and policies, as well as the implementation of these program standards in all daily work activity.
• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university (CTRS or CPRP certification is preferred).
• Comfort and competency in providing personal care, behavioral support, and activity facilitation for adults with developmental disabilities.
• Must be able to obtain certification in CPR/First Aid and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI).
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes weekend and overnight commitments with agreed-upon weekdays off.
• Ability to live in no-cost, on-site housing at Camp Allyn as a requirement of the position.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
