St. Louis Forensic Treatment Center - South is looking for a positive and energetic Human Resources Generalist. This is a first-level professional human resources position responsible for varied or specialized duties related to some aspect of personnel work, the preparation and analysis of salary date, classification of positions, the review of applications for eligibility, and other similar activities.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting Supervisors with job vacancies and job postings
• Providing advice related to recruitment and selection, onboarding, classification, benefits, appointments, and/or performance evaluation to ensure compliance with relevant federal and state laws
• Create new positions tracking and inactive positions tracking
• Responsible for PDQ and all it could involve regarding job classifications, such as re-classing
• Responsible for tuition reimbursement tracking
• Responsible for stipends, tracking, inputting into payroll system and ending appropriately
• Reports may be prepared for agency or statewide managers and utilized for the purpose of managing human resources, including monthly vacancy reports and performance measures (i.e. turnover reporting)
• Work may include participating on project teams within designated program areas or other human resources program areas toward the end of enhancing statewide human resources programs
• Must exercise considerable independent judgment and discretion in contacts with state personnel and in making advanced decisions or determinations involving the application of rules, policies and techniques in the solution of personnel problems. General supervision is received from an administrative superior
• Reviews work for technical adequacy and adherence to established rules and policies
• Perform other duties as assigned

Eligibility:

• One year of experience in professional work in a public or private personnel agency
• Bachelor’s Degree including 18 semester hours in one or a combination of the following subjects: public, personnel or business administration, labor or industrial relations, psychology, statistics or other closely related areas
• Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality
• Must be well organized and to successfully manage work priorities
• Must possess proficient writing and processional communication skills
• 3-5 years relevant experience (substitutions for typical educational requirements may be allowed)
