Overview

The Position 

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Finance Team in our New York office. This is a associate-level position where you’ll report to Senior Accountant, working closely with US Controller.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do 

  • Assist in monthly closing process and journal entries for multiple legal entities.
  • Perform month-end journals and associated reconciliations.
  • Manage fixed assets additions, depreciation schedules and ledgers.
  • Assist with Accounts Payable, vendor invoices and expense reports, including verifying, allocating, posting and reconciling AP and AR transactions, as needed.
  • Ensure bank reconciliations are accurately completed.
  • Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions.
  • Assist with annual audit, tax return filing, and state and local sales/use tax filings.
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Assist in preparation and monitoring of weekly cash flow activities.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial, analysis and processes to better manage and report on the agency’s finances.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What You’ll Need 

  • Exceptional communication skills, team building. Ability to work with a variety of customers at different level
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong Excel skills and Microsoft Office a must, as are strong organizational skills
  • 2 years of professional experience in public or private accounting
  • A Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance, CPA a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and team collaboration abilities, including partnering cross-functionally to implement new business initiatives
  • Ability to work autonomously and perform well under pressure
  • The drive to take initiative and be a successful agent of change
  • High integrity with a commitment to candid feedback

In order to comply with equal pay and salary transparency laws in various locations, we believe the target range of base compensation in all locations within the United States for this role is $55k-$70k. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
