Senior Director, Human Resources (30hr/wk)
Core Job Responsibilities:
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Senior Director, Human Resources, to join our leadership team. In this key role, you will partner closely with executives to shape and execute our organization's HR strategy, ensuring it aligns with our overall business goals. You will lead all aspects of Human Resources, overseeing the entire employee lifecycle from recruitment and onboarding to development, performance management, and ultimately, retirement. You will be a champion for compliance, adept at navigating both state and federal employment laws while upholding best practices in the HR field.
The ideal candidate possesses a bachelor's degree and a minimum of fifteen years of relevant HR experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A Master's degree and HR certification are highly desirable. Beyond your academic background, you are a resourceful problem-solver with a knack for creative solutions. As a highly skilled specialist, you will contribute to developing new HR procedures and troubleshoot complex issues that arise within the team. You are a strong team leader, adept at motivating and overseeing your HR staff, while also ensuring their performance evaluations are conducted fairly and promptly. This role requires a high level of flexibility, as you may be assigned additional projects on an as-needed basis.

The Human Resources team must possess the following skills and demonstrate increasing proficiency as the job grade increases:
- Strong Project Management skills required
- Ability to demonstrate understanding of ACA compliance
- Strong knowledge of employment laws with ability to educate others
- Excellent Communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong attention to detail required
- Must have strong computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite and a Tier 1 or 2 HRIS system; experience implementing HRIS systems a plus
- Strong sense of service for internal customers and possess team-oriented skills
- Excellent organizational, prioritization and multi-tasking skills
Essential Functions:
- Create and execute our organization's HR strategy.
- Manage a talent acquisition program to source and fill multiple positions.
- Develop job descriptions and recruitment advertisements.
- Manage an effective on-boarding and new hire orientation program.
- Maintain company organizational chart and employee directory, identifying and taking action on opportunities to enhance organizational efficiency.
- Develop and implement a Talent Management program, that includes performance management, talent assessment and review, succession planning, manpower planning, etc.
- Work with managers to uncover talent gaps to meeting short term and long-term objectives.
- Develop a compensation philosophy and program that creates a culture of pay for performance that motivates, incentivizes, and rewards effective performance.
- Develop a formal rewards and recognition program.
- Establish and maintain reports for measuring talent metrics that support the achievement of business goals.
- Manage human resources vendor relationships.
- Oversee and manage benefits administration in partnership with established broker.
- Manage claims resolution, change reporting, approving HR invoices for payment, annual re-evaluation of policies for cost effectiveness.
- Manage FMLA and leaves of absence.
- Manage employee relations by serving as a mediator to resolve employee grievances.
- Control and manage the termination process.
- Conduct exit interviews to determine and address reasons for unwanted turnover.
- Organize and maintain employee self-service portal.
- Educate employees and managers on HR Compliance and laws
- Manage worker’s compensation as needed.
- Maintain accurate employee records and reports.
- Keep up to date with HR legislation by researching and attending necessary events, before providing suitable interpretation to Directors and Managers.
- Continuously audit HR practices and recommend new approaches.

Travel
These positions generally do not require travel. There may be very rare circumstances where travel may be required but less than 10% of the time.
Compensation
The pay range below has been adjusted for 30 hours per week.
