Location: Homestead High School Terms of Employment This is a full time, 10 month position and is eligible for benefits. Purpose Provides a wide variety of secretarial duties/functions as a support to Administrators, staff and school. Uses judgment and initiative to determine the best approach or course of action for daily routine and non-routine situations. Qualifications Requires 3-5 years experience as administrative assistant. Previous school secretarial experience preferred. Proven computer usage as could be obtained by 1-2 years of experience. Ability to successfully interact and build relationships with a variety of individuals, such as students, parents, staff, community members, etc., as evidenced by previous customer service experience. Flexibility to handle multiple tasks in a composed and timely manner. Ability to be a team member. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills in order to compose and edit correspondence, newsletters and other documents as well as communicate effectively with students, staff and the public. Proven telephone etiquette. Attention to detail, problem solving and organizational skills required with the ability to independently follow-up where necessary while maintaining confidentiality. Requires basic math skills for daily usage. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as may be determined to be appropriate and acceptable.
