What you’ll do

• Review and file federal & State returns for SMS group Inc & Subsidiaries. Arrange any necessary tax payments, based on returns. 
• Review and file federal & State returns for other SMS Companies, required to file within USA, arrange any tax payments (if necessary) and invoice to SMS Companies. 
• Prepare and maintain consolidating tax entries for financial statements, including Book to Taxable income adjustments and deferred taxes. 
• Prepare and maintain records for tax reporting by companies. 
• Prepare federal and States tax installments throughout year 
• Prepare and file federal and State tax extensions (as needed) for group Companies 
• Maintain records and prepare draft filings for all inter-company activities (form 5472). 
• Prepare and file various Franchise reports for group Companies 
• Prepare and maintain records for foreign tax filings 
• Maintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules; including book. Tax, State, AMT and ADS depreciation. 
• Compile data and respond to all tax audit requests. 
• Maintain Transfer Pricing documentation 
• Review, respond and initiate payment (if necessary) to all federal and State tax notices 
• Maintain records for various other tax-reporting requirements (forms 1099 & 1042). 
• Review and file (as needed) IIT returns for foreign nationals 
• Assist with monthly financial closings (as needed). 
• Prepare Balance Sheet GL account reconciliations monthly. 
• Review income forecast for inclusion of projected income / deferred taxes adjustments 

What you’ll need

• Minimum of a BS degree in Accounting, CPA or Master’s degree preferred 
• 7 to 10 years of experience in Corporate income tax accounting 
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products. 
• Experience with SAP preferred 
• Strong financial analysis abilities 
• Strong interpersonal skills
