SkyWater Search Partners is Hiring a VP of Human Resources Near Minneapolis, MN

We are excited to partner with one of the most exciting ecommerce business in Minnesota to identify their next Vice President of Human Resources. Winners of nearly any award you can name: #1 Fastest Growing Company in MN, multiple Best Place to Work awards, EY Entrepreneur of the Year Finalists, etc., this growing $75M organization is looking for a talented HR leader to join their executive leadership team, leading a small team.

Reporting to the CEO, The VP of HR is a critical role that will set strategy and direction for all aspects of the HR function in alignment with overall business strategies and objectives to foster ongoing organizational growth and success, including cultivating a strong culture where employees thrive and contribute to the company’s mission. The VP of HR will provide executive-level leadership and guidance to the HR function focusing on the areas of talent acquisition, organizational effectiveness, talent development, employee relations, total rewards, compliance, and employment law.

*** This role is local to Minneapolis, Minnesota, and the executive leadership team works in the office at their new headquarters regularly. The organization allows for a hybrid work arrangement***

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic development and implementation of HR initiatives while actively engaging in day-to-day operations to ensure alignment with organizational goals and effective execution.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive talent acquisition strategies to support both ongoing hiring needs and seasonal fluctuations in staffing requirements. Collaborate with department leaders to forecast hiring needs and proactively identify talent gaps.
  • Lead talent management initiatives including succession planning, talent management, performance management, and employee engagement activities.
  • Oversee the performance management process, which includes designing effective training as well as coaching leaders and employees on goal setting and performance management communication and supporting documentation.
  • Drive organizational change initiatives to enhance leadership development, career development, and employee engagement. Implement strategies to navigate transitions effectively and ensure alignment with company objectives.
  • Lead compensation planning to maintain market competitiveness and internal adherence to company pay practices. Consult with leaders on new job titles, overseeing the effectiveness and administration of the incentive program.
  • Oversee the annual benefit review process, including providing feedback regarding design or policy changes, oversee administration of all benefit programs.
  • Lead the evaluation of employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices. Conduct assessments to ensure alignment with company values, legal requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Enhance internal communication with a daily focus on culture, utilizing video communication for consistent messaging across all locations while ensuring alignment with the brand.
  • Foster a culture high potential people want to be a part of; recommends programs and enhancements to ensure Merchology is the best place to work in Minneapolis and the cities in which they operate.
  • Additional projects or duties as assigned.

Desired Skills And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
  • 10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in leadership roles
  • Proven success leading People Operations function in a high growth environment
  • Strong assessment and decision-making skills; proven ability to influence and build relationships both within the organization and with external sources.
  • A self-starter that can thrive in a scaling and fast-paced environment
  • Experience working in a Founder led or family run business environment (preferred)
  • Experience with EOS/Traction (preferred)
