Seel is Hiring a Vice President of Sales Near Detroit, MI

As one of the fastest growing firms in the energy waste reduction movement, SEEL (Solutions for Energy Efficient Logistics) provides wholistic residential and commercial program management solutions for utility and municipal clients throughout the country. We are looking for a Vice President of Sales to support SEEL’s growth initiatives.

As the VP of Sales, they will oversee the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s business development. As a critical role in the organization, the VP of Sales will lead the development of SEEL’s sales strategies, as well as collaborate with other leadership on proposal development, and acquiring new business opportunities. As a key business partner to leadership, leads and supports the development of strategic plans and objectives in a short and long term.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide business results, improvement opportunities, strategy and advisory leadership to CEO, President, functional leadership team and operations leaders to ensure its goals
  • Recruiting and hiring sales staff and developing training programs
  • Participate in the development of new project proposals
  • In collaboration with other executive staff, and skilled and trusted departmental employees, develops, implements, operates, maintains, and controls the essential operating systems, information, and business development of the company
  • Develop and manage sales and marketing budgets, and oversee the development and management of internal operating budgets
  • Lead critical processes including reporting and analyzing results, forecasts variances, next year plan and five years strategic plan. Ensure that business is meeting targets over both short and long-term horizons
  • Proactively identify opportunities with current and new partners
  • Defines and implements key performance indicators and strategic objectives for the sales team, and facilitates measurement of those objectives, reporting results to the executive team
  • Drafts and implements policies and best practices to support achievement of objectives and required standards
  • Drafts business plans for new products, services, and markets
  • Maintains knowledge of developments and trends in sales, as well as energy industry including technological advances
  • Build relationships with customers and suppliers
  • Supervise the preparation, issuance, and delivery of sales materials, exhibits, and promotion programs
  • Performs other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Organizational Development, or equivalent (Bachelors accepted with more experience)
  • Six Sigma Black Belt, or Certified Project Manager preferred
  • At least ten (10) years of experience in a senior-level sales and/or marketing position of a mid-sized company with at least 5 being within an energy related field.
  • Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management
  • Knowledge of structuring sales quota goals and revenue expectations
  • Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects
  • Experience in the proposal writing process
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Continuous Improvement mindset
  • Experience mentoring and coaching employees of various levels

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Knowledge of emerging HR trends, and best practices
  • Knowledge of compensation and commission structures
  • Ability to travel 25-50%
  • Ability to successfully complete vetting process
