Position Summary:
Sciton is growing rapidly and seeking a Cost Accounting Manager to support our fast-growing Finance team and is responsible for day to day cost accounting activities.
This individual will be responsible for overall accounting and costing functions, including audit. Responsibilities require in-depth knowledge in cost accounting, manufacturing processes, GAAP and best practices.
A substantial portion of this position will involve participating in teams driving continuous process improvements within our team. We are looking for an individual to deliver accurate and timely financial reporting, be proactive in streamlining business processes, and support an efficient and compliant finance infrastructure.

In this role, you will:
- Perform monthly close processes, including cost accounting accruals, inventory costing, obsolescence, balance sheet reviews and account reconciliations.
- Analyze actual manufacturing costs, prepare periodic report comparing standard costs to actual production costs and maintain the standard cost system ensuring standards represent actual costs
- Drive recurring accounting procedures in inventory, including, but not limited to, accounting for variances, valuation, cost allocations, and physical inventory.
- Prepare inventory, warranty reserve and E&O analysis and work with other for inputs
- Perform product COGS, variances and margin analysis
- Participate in the planning, design and implement processes and controls for physical inventories and cycle counts.
- Support cost accounting activities with Sciton Japan and Sciton Canada
- Interface with external auditors and assist in annual audit.
- Participate in other accounting and/or projects as necessary.
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting with a CMA/CPA preferred
- 7 years of experience in manufacturing or medical device industry preferred.
- Strong GAAP accounting and analytical skills
- Experience with Infor Syteline or similar enterprise reporting systems preferred.
- Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Excel skills required.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, hyper-growth environment
- Commitment to providing quality work in a timely manner.
- Team-player and self-starter with a can-do attitude
