Job Title: Accounting ManagerRole duration of 5.5 mo.sWork Location: Palo Alto, California, 94306 (Prefer for the candidate to be working physically in the Santa Monica Office (or Palo Alto office) but remote is open for very strong candidates)Pay rate range: $65-$85/hr.Job DescriptionWhat youll do:Develop relationships and work closely with business partners to provide accounting and business support, including research and recommendations on accounting issues, changes in judgments and estimates that impact financial results, as well as the implementation of accounting changesWork cross-functionally with business partners on non-standard transactions, revenue contracts, content partner arrangements, and third-party sales support, to align on the downstream impacts, controls, and reporting needs for financial close. Design and implement new processes and controls as needed.Analyze, organize, and deliver information that move teams to decisions and actionReview monthly and quarterly journal entries and account reconciliations for areas as assigned, ensuring high-quality work product and level of detailPrepare and review materials for internal and external reporting on a monthly and quarterly basisAssess, research, and document appropriate US GAAP treatment for various transactions within the businessWork at the lowest level of detail to understand Company operations and identify accounting issues.Identify risks in and drive process enhancements, implement controls, and maintain proper process documentation and evidence in accordance with SOX.Provide support for the external financial statement audits, as well as periodic internal auditsProvide support for other ad hoc analyses and projects as neededKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Strong technical accounting knowledge with an understanding of US GAAP and ability to document accounting conclusionsAbility to work under pressure and perform several tasks concurrently in a deadline driven environmentExcellent critical thinking and problem solving skills, and superior attention to detailExcellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organizationExceptional analytical skills, including ExcelA proactive, self-directed approach with the ability to multi-task, think creatively, and learn quickly in a fast-paced environmentDetail-oriented with a high sense of urgencyExceptional organizational skillsStrong work ethic with the ability to work extended hours during critical periodsAble to work independently as well as collaboratively with a teamSomeone who is flexible, eager, and willing to build from the ground upMinimum Qualifications:Bachelors Degree in accounting or finance or equivalent years of experience6 years of experience as an accounting professionalCPA LicensePreferred Qualifications:Big 4 firm experienceFortune 500 and/or private company experienceExperience working in cloud finance systems (Oracle, Netsuite, etc.)3 years with a focus on Revenue Recognition or Payroll Accounting.#J-18808-Ljbffr
