SacENT is looking for a full time Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for accounts payable, invoicing, statement review, bank reconciliations, assisting with the preparation of monthly financial reports, and is the first point of contact for accounting issues.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Prepare accounting related entries to numerous registers, journals and logs
- Follow our company’s established accounting processes
- Accounts payable activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness of invoice entry and payment.
- Perform monthly bank settlements, daily bank spreadsheet
- Regularly maintain detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum Experience required:
- 2 years’ experience in accounting or related field
- Experience in a health care organization preferred
Knowledge:
- Proven experience as a accounts payable specialist
- Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Familiarity with financial accounting statements
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Hands-on experience with accounting software packages – MAS90/Sage100 or similar (preferred)
- Proficient in Excel; familiar with Vlookups and pivot tables
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
Skills required:
- Excellent analytical skills, confidentiality, thoroughness, excellent general math skills
- Highly detail-oriented and organized
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Organizational, verbal and written communication skills a must.
Abilities:
- Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees
- Ability to multi-task
