Position Overview: Seeking a dynamic, upbeat, and energetic experienced account payable and receivable specialist accountant. That is highly organized, precision to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, tact, patient, and a true professional in every sense. Your primary duties include data entry, coding of invoices, researching and resolving discrepancies accurately and efficiently. You must feel comfortable reaching out to customers and vendors, setting up new accounts, and resolving challenges. Previous experience in accounts receivable or accounts payable is required.

Responsibilities

AR:

• Receive, process, and post incoming payments
• Resolve customer and vendor questions and concerns using internal and external resources
• Review all invoices for appropriate GL account coding, documentation and compliance with company policies
• Reconcile invoice and payments for all accounts
• Verify and ensure accuracy of data prior to invoice uploading to customers portals
• Scanning and attaching paper invoices. Triple match and reconcile with paper and electronic warehouse packing slips

AP:

• Process invoices against purchase orders and receiving reports, checking to ensure that prices billed correspond with the purchase order and code invoices as necessary
• Communicate with purchasing and receiving on all issues pertaining to inventory-related issues
• Insure accurate and timely recording of all vendor invoices for payment
• Ensure all documentation from vendors and shipping carriers is collected and the appropriate data is posted to the company’s accounting and billing systems
• Process and code non-inventory payables such as expense reimbursements and utility costs
• Scanning and attaching paper invoices. Triple match and reconcile with paper and electronic warehouse packing slips

General:

• Provide monthly reports and updates on delinquent accounts, exceptions, contingent liabilities and accounts receivable aging
• Preparing journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assisting with monthly close processes.
• Ensuring compliance with GAAP
• Perform additional accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as required by the CFO

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal controls required
• A minimum of eight (3) years of progressive experience in accounting roles, including a manager or similar role
• Advanced competency in Excel and proficiency with other Microsoft Office suite products (e.g., One Note, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Effective verbal and written communications, including active listening skills, problem-solving skills, and presentation skills
• QuickBooks Enterprise experience - required
• Knowledge of invoicing portals
• Government Contract knowledge – preferred
