Summary
Under direct supervision, the Safety Specialist assists with a wide range of routine assignments in two or more specialty areas in environmental health and safety. The nature of work involves extensive field work, data collection, testing, auditing, research, training, field analysis, etc.
This position will assist and support leaders to drive strategies, activities and decision-making processes. This position will provide administrative and field assistance to upkeep efforts to reduce high frequency exposures, identify and anticipate hazards, perform risk assessments, implement and monitor effective processes that prevent unacceptable risks, help control losses, etc. Areas of responsibility will include slip, trip & fall prevention, overexertion prevention, etc.
Assist in the Implementation of programs and initiatives for improving internal and external safety programs and risk control processes for the protection of all associates and company assets. Support the implementation of necessary policies and procedures to appropriately manage all processes in the administration and reduction of worker’s compensation, general liability, and other losses. Aid in ensuring corporate compliance with local, state, federal and OSHA safety programs.
Monitor/audit status and effectiveness of various loss prevention programs, strategies, tasks, etc..
