Job Description
HII Mission Technologies Division is seeking a Safety Specialist in support of a large Operations and Maintenance Contract within Mission Technologies.
This position is contingent upon contract award.
Essential Job Responsibilities
The Safety Specialist assists in ensuring the integration of safety and health protocols into various project stages, contributing expertise on security measures, and maintaining alignment with regulatory obligations.
Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting in the development of the Project Staffing Plan with respect to safety roles and drafting safety-related sections of the QMP.
• Helps set and maintain safety performance targets in the QMP, identifying and mitigating transition risks within the Transition-In Plan and ensuring the clear communication of safety information during both Transition-In and Transition-Out.
• Reporting safety and health data for input into the ISTS and working to help the update and maintain safety documentation in the library, ensuring accessibility and relevance of safety related data and material.

Minimum Qualifications
Must have 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
Preferred Requirements
Up to 14 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; Up to 12 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; Up to 9 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or 19 years relevant experience with High School or equivalent.
Physical Requirements
May require working in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level. May encounter extremes of temperature, pollution, humidity, noise, and other environmental factors while collecting data, observing performance of task teams.
