Rock West Composites, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for aBusiness Development Manager. 

Rock West Composites, Inc. is an engineering and manufacturing company dedicated to providing innovative solutions for commercial and government customers. This position can be located in our San Diego, CA or West Jordan, Utah office. Reports to our Chief Strategy Officer.

Position Summary:

As a Business Development Manager at Rock West Composites, you'll play a pivotal role in driving new business across diverse industries. These include custom products (custom molded shapes), stock products (tubes, etc.), and distribution products (prepregs, fabrics, resins).

Essential Responsibilities May Include:

• Identifying and engaging key clients in various industries, such as Aerospace, Defense, Sports, Maritime, Oil/Energy, and more.
• Exceeding annual sales targets through both traditional and innovative sales methods.
• Cultivating strong relationships with clients, prospects, suppliers, and internal teams to advance strategic sales growth plans.
• Serving as a liaison with Rock West teams and providing valuable feedback on customer needs.
• Managing the customer qualification process, guiding sales from project conception to technical validation and mass production.
• Following up on leads generated through our website.
• Traveling to visit customers, attend trade shows, and more.

Non-Essential Functions:

• You may also be required to perform other duties and responsibilities as necessary to support the team and company.

Required Education and Experience:

• AA degree or Bachelor's in Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in composites and/or aerospace sales.
• Strong communication skills and experience in customer interactions.
• Knowledge of composite materials, including tapes, fabrics, braids, prepregs, and resin infusion fibers like carbon fiber, fiberglass, quartz, and Kevlar, as well as various resins like epoxy, vinyl ester, and cyanate ester.
• Familiarity with composite finishing processes, including trimming, drilling, coating, and more.

Other Requirements:

• Strong work ethic.
• Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Must be a US Person (Resident Alien or US Citizen).
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
