The ideal Legal Assistant will have sound technical and computer knowledge as well as excellent analytical, communication and organizational skills. Three to five years of legal experience in a law firm or other corporate legal department may be preferred.
How you will make an impact
- Cross-reference copied documents with originals to ensure accuracy
- Perform legal research and investigative tasks, including obtaining information or documents from outside parties, as directed
- Classify documents and gather data as directed by lawyers and paralegals
- Look after computer database input and retrieval
- Make sure the photocopier and scanner are ready for documents
- Manage the organization of e-documents and files
- Analyze and retrieve electronic documents from a variety of court and agency web sites
- Maintain word processing, filing and faxing
- File matter management and record keeping
- Work on correspondence and memorandum
