The Communications Manager at our construction and manufacturing enterprise plays a crucial role in shaping the voice and messaging of our diverse business units. This role demands a deep understanding of each business segment to develop and articulate compelling content that resonates with both internal teams and external customers. A mix of creative and technical writing skills is essential, as is the ability to build key relationships across different business areas. The successful candidate will be adept at managing people, receptive and adaptable to feedback, and skilled in consistently applying it to improve communication strategies. This position involves a blend of strategic thinking, hands-on content creation, and effective team management, ensuring our messages are impactful and aligned with our brand's values and goals.

The Communications Manager will play a central role in shaping and disseminating RK’s messaging across various platforms and audiences. This will involve:

• Developing and maintaining consistent and compelling brand messaging across all business units, ensuring alignment with our corporate identity and values.
• Leading public relations efforts, including managing industry awards submissions, to enhance our company's visibility and reputation.
• Strategizing and executing crisis communication plans, demonstrating agility and resilience in high-pressure situations.

Additionally, the role includes:

• Overseeing all businesses' social media strategies, from content development to platform management, ensuring engaging and impactful online presence.
• Managing internal communications to foster a transparent and inclusive workplace culture.
• Providing strategic support for proposal content, enhancing the effectiveness of our submissions.

This position requires building strong relationships with each business unit to deeply understand their functions. This knowledge will be pivotal in crafting content that resonates both internally and with our diverse customer base. The ideal candidate must balance creative and technical writing skills, be adept at managing people, and show an understanding and flexible approach to feedback, applying it consistently to improve communication outcomes.

Management

• This role may eventually involve managing a Content Specialist and other team members as the team grows.
• Encouraging individuals to take on assignments that deepen existing skills or develop new ones.
• Ensuring team collaboration by sharing best practices to drive continuous improvement.
• Prioritize and manage workload with attention to quality and brand.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 5 years’ experience in communications, PR, or a related field, preferably in a similar industry, with a proven track record of achieving results.
• Strong understanding of social media platforms and content strategies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Adept at crisis management and quick decision-making.
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
• Strong comfort level and skillset with hands-on work in various project management systems and marketing automation tools.
• Strong interpersonal and team-building capabilities, developing strong trust-based relationships and managing effectively.
• Energetic, passionate and articulate communicator who can convey information to various internal and external audiences, write quality content by the audience, and articulate complex technical information.
• Must be detail-oriented.
