Reed Construction is a fifth-generation, family-owned General Contractor celebrating 130 years of experience in the construction industry. Reed is well-known for its unmatched level of reliability, attention to detail, and customer experience. We are looking for a dynamic Entry Level Accounting Assistant with 1 year plus of experience to join our Finance and Accounting Team.

The ideal candidate will work closely with our Project Accountants, Assistant Controller, and CFO to receive, organize, and verify invoices, track and record purchase orders, and process payments. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Generate and send monthly draw Subcontractor Payment Requests at Project Accountants direction.
• Setup new Projects in ProCore & Sage and provide details to Operations & Accounting Team.
• Processes Subcontracts, Change Orders, & Purchase Orders within 1-2 business days of request from Project Team & ensuring vendors have been prequalified.
• Collects, reviews, and resolves waiver issues directly with subcontractor within 1 business day of receiving the waiver.
• Immediately Escalates Trade Partner discrepancies to Project Accountant and Project Manager for clarification and resolution.
• Sends daily reminders to trade partners on outstanding waivers at least 5 days before billings are due to the client.
• Follows up on voided or expiring SPRs, subcontract, change orders, & purchase orders, and updates the scorecard weekly.
• Enters SPR AP accurately & Timely.
• Completes Weekly PA Sub Run review accurately & Timely & submits to Accounting Assistant for processing.
• Maintains Master Pay Application log daily and consistently provides deposit reports every Thursday to Controller.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field a plus
• 1-3 years accounts payable or general accounting experience
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles
• Excellent communications skills and is able to work well with a wide range of personalities
• A strong sense of urgency and time management
• Goal-oriented – ability to problem solve, react quickly to changing circumstances and still achieve the desired results
• Organized with excellent verbal and written communication skills with keen attention to detail
• Proficiency with relevant accounting software such as Sage Timberline, QuickBooks, etc.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
