Redwood Hospitality is Hiring a Sous Chef Near Brooklyn, NY

About Redwood Hospitality:Redwood Hospitality is a small group based in Brooklyn. The spaces include: Place des FĂȘtes, Laurel Bakery, Cafe Mado, Oxalis. Our goal is to create and maintain these spaces that are centered around hospitality, food, beverage, creativity, community and sustainability. We are focused on delivering a high quality product, with an empthasis on thoughtful sourcing while maintianing a strong team environment of which eduction and development are pilars. We are a growing group and looking for talented individuals to help that us build in that process.

Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing and ensuring a smooth and professional service
  • Exemplifying, managing, and maintaining a positive and respectful culture for the team.
  • Sourcing and ordering highest quality ingredients
  • Developing and teaching recipes and techniques
  • Providing leadership to a large team and ensuring all chef's are accountable for their responsibilities and stations.
  • Maintaining kitchen equipment and ensuring proper usage
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization at all times, above and beyond DOH guidelines.
  • Administrative support including inventory and managing costs and waste

Requirements:

  • Minimum of one year experience in a managing capacity
  • Minimum three years experience in a quality-driven, high volume kitchen (fine dining strongly preferred).
  • Culinary diploma or equivalent in experience strongly preferred.
  • Positive attitude and strong communication skills.
  • General understanding of Google Docs
  • NYC Food Handler certification
