How You Will Contribute

The Member Engagement Assistant supports the execution of strategic program and stewardship initiatives designed to deepen member involvement and build loyalty.

Specifically, you will:

  • Implement, host, staff, and report upon general member programs, both virtual and onsite.
  • Assisting with volunteer management and vendor management for annual fundraising events.
  • Assist, coordinate, and participate in Young Friend Council meetings, stewardship events, and other initiatives.
  • Staff the member lounge and work support programs and other offers related to the lounge.
  • Track and report on program costs, attendance, and revenue.
  •  Assist Assistant Manager with completing event ticketing and web forms for programs and distributing event memos and information across museum departments in a timely manner. Work to ensure up to date event availability and information on web and with frontline staff.
  • Work with volunteer services, security, catering, special events and visitor services staff to achieve successful implementation of program logistics, including attending weekly event logistics planning and social media committee meetings.
  • File and keep accurate records of events, invoices, RSVP lists, and samples of collateral.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Your background and experience include:

  • Customer service experience
  • Experience planning and executing programs preferred
  • Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, communication, and writing skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to create and maintain effective and cooperative work relationships
  • Excellent attention to detail, and ability to plan ahead and meet deadlines
  • Flexibility, creativity, and versatility to work both independently and collaboratively in a rapidly changing environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Position and Compensation Details

  • The HOURLY RATE for this position is $16.75.
  • This position is FULL-TIME, NON-EXEMPT, and 35 hours per week.
  • This position is part of the AFSCME Local 397 bargaining unit.
  • This position reports to the Assistant Manager of Member Engagement
  • Physical requirements:
    • Able to remain stationary for extended periods of time, to utilize computers and other office equipment required of this job, to perform physically administrative duties in a typical interior office environment, gallery, or exhibit space, and to access most public and staff areas of the museum campus
  • COVID-19 vaccination required.
  • Background check required after a conditional job offer is made. Consideration of the background check will be tailored to the requirements of the job.
